We have all seen these e-books all over the web claiming to have secrets that no one else knows about and promising you the world. I have wasted my money on some of these myself in the past.

However, I was very interested in seeing whether you really could save money at Disney World as she claims. Considering that I live an hour's drive from Disney and have a 2 year old, I figured that I would soon need to know these secrets in the coming years.

With that said, I purchased the e-book and downloaded it from the download page.

As I opened the e-book I will say that my initial response was disappointment because of the length of the book, 140 pages (40 pages of which are readers' comments giving tips and websites, forms, more tips, etc.). Some people may like long e-books but not me.

I like for them to get straight to the point, leaving out all fluff. I also don't like having to read on the computer screen for hours on end.

However, the more that I read the book the more satisfied I became. I came across many tips and ideas in which I was unaware.

POSITIVES

The e-book is very comprehensive giving you information covering saving money on lodging, dining, tickets, and souvenirs.

She even gives you information on nearby hospitals and provides forms to help you keep track of reservations, confirmations and other important information for your trip.

The guide starts off by discussing ways to save money on lodging. This includes staying in one of the Disney resorts, nearby hotels or vacation properties.

Lodging is likely to be one of the biggest expenses of the trip. The author does a good job of explaining your different options for lodging and how to find the best deal.

She even goes into extreme detail providing tables with the different rates according to the different seasons (peak season, off peak season, holiday season, etc.)

One of the strategies that she explains in this section could possibly save you hundreds if you chose one of the more expensive resorts at Disney. It does involve a little work and some risk but seems to be worth the effort.

I could also see how money could be saved using another one of the tips that she provided in the guide. She explains how to find vacation rental property and the pros and cons of staying in a vacation property versus staying in a hotel.

The author then goes into the different ways of saving money on your tickets. Hands down one of the best ways to save money on 1-2 day tickets with Disney is by attending timeshare presentations.

But most people do not want to spend their precious vacation time fighting off high pressure salespeople for 2-3 hours.

The author does a good job of explaining the other ways to save money on tickets. But don't expect to find free or even Disney tickets anywhere without attending a timeshare presentation.

You can save the most using the author's techniques on the multiple day tickets with the added options such as Park Hopper (ability to go to the different Disney parks using one ticket) and No Expiration option.

Although the author does a good job providing a lot of useful information there are some things that I think would make the guide better.

NEGATIVES

I think that the presentation of the information could be improved and that it should be shortened.

I have already expressed my disdain for long e-books.

Maybe it is my short attention span, but I thought that the book was too long and boring in some places.

Also throughout the e-book there are areas of large blocks of text. Separating this large block into paragraphs would have made the information easier to read on the screen and more scannable when reviewing for specific information.

VERDICT

Overall, I would say that the Disney Secrets guide is worth the money. You may be able to find some of the tips on your own by scouring the web for hours on end in forums, signing up for newsletters and other time consuming methods.

You can certainly do so and may find ways to save. However, I would recommend investing in the guide and using it to get a jump start on planning your trip. The guide will unquestionably pay for itself with the information inside.

After all time is money and the kids are all ready to visit the happiest place on earth.

I can't seem to remember where I found this site but Major Geeks has been extremely useful to me over the past year or so. I've had numerous problems with my computer and this site has helped me out on all of those occasions.

If you haven't clicked on the link already, Major Geeks is a site that hosts downloads which allow you to tweak and help clear up your computer. For those of you that have read my guide on spyware then you'll already know that there is a lot of crap out there and it can be a right pain to get rid of. Also, as your computer gets older, it slows down a lot. Major Geeks intends to help you cure these problems and much more by the files that they offer.

Now, I've suggested this site to people who have had problems with their computer but they immediately get turned off because the look of the site is a bit 'dodgy' or it 'seems a bit suspicious'. I admit that it isn't the best colour scheme out there but I bet that it saves them a lot of money since they don't have to upload as many images as say Gamespot or IGN. The colours reflect the army-like name with the greens and browns.

On the homepage, you have a list to the various sections of the site down the left, links to useful parts of the site on your left as well as other useful links at the top. In the middle of the page, you have the latest content that has been uploaded to the site which includes downloads, news, reviews of PC parts and some weird news that they like to add to the site which I will come back to later. This is extremely easy to use and you also have the search box just below the main menu if you want to find something quickly.

Some examples of the content that they offer are items such as the latest anti-virus updates for Norton and other companies. Programs such as Google Earth and Celestia which you can download for fun. Paint.Net for those of you that want to create graphics for free and BitComet for the people that want an excellent torrent program. Like I said, these are just a few examples and you can choose between freeware programs which are free to use and download or shareware programs which you need to pay to use.

You might be thinking, "How do I know that the files offered by this site are safe to use?" Answer: You don't but Major Geeks test every program that they put on their website for spyware and viruses and they recommend that you also scan the programs with your own anti-virus and spyware programs too.

As for the other parts of the website, you have a forum full of people who know what they're talking about. Topics range from problems with your internet to help on how to get the best out of your computer. These forums are probably one of the first places you should go to should something happen to your computer that you have no idea how to fix. The forum also has its own Arcade which you need to register to use but is an easy way to waste 20-30 minutes.

Major Geeks also have their own merchandise should you want to support the site and show your friends that there's more to you than they think.

My favourite part of the site is the 'Way Off Base' news that they have. This holds all the weird news that users have submitted to the site over the years and most of it is defnitely worth looking at. Some will make you wonder how that thing could've happened, laugh until your sides hurt or could just be some video of Ronaldinho showing off his football skills. For example, this piece of news made me wonder how on earth that could've happened and it did provide a bit of light reading for me. It's all very interesting stuff.

In conclusion, Major Geeks follows the saying 'Don't judge a book by its cover'. This book doesn't look like much but its content will capture you for months on end.

Honestly, I couldn't believe that Mike Geary didn't have this as part of his Truth About Abs program. So what was I to do? Like they say, necessity is the mother of all invention, so I had to create these two items myself.

And like I said previously, The Truth About Abs covers all the material in very good detail. But when I started to implement the program, I was running into stumbling blocks that were stopping me from getting the results that I wanted. So I created 2 tools to help increase the effectiveness of my workouts.

I'd like to share the 2 tools I created, so that you are aware of what can be done to help your workouts.

What was the first solution?

Like I said before, there is a TON of information in The Truth About Abs, and so much to absorb. There was no possible way that I could memorize the workout routines that Mike Geary put out in full detail. There were so many different exercises that I have never heard of, and didn't know how to perform correctly.

So I had to bring The Truth About Abs to the gym. Do you know how inconvenient that was? I had to flip through pages & pages trying to find the right exercise and how to do it. It was both embarrassing and inefficient.

To solve this, I personally recorded the workout routines on MP3 files, detailing each exercise in the same order as in The Truth About Abs. I walk through each exercise, and give you step-by-step instructions on how to properly perform each exercise.

To help myself out when I was at the gym, I recorded:

1. How to correctly hold the weight & proper body positioning - This way, I didn't have to think about it anymore...I just followed my instructions and to do the exercises correctly.

2. What muscle I should feel "working" - I know exactly where I should feel my muscles 'squeeze' and 'flex' to get maximum results.

Then I downloaded these files to my iPod (or any other MP3 player) which I followed along at the gym. No lugging around any books, flipping pages trying to find out how to do each exercise while somebody is waiting for my bench.

It's like having a trainer with me every step of the way!

What was the second solution?

In The Truth About Abs, Mike Geary lays out workout routines in great detail. His workouts are very creative, and truly involve your entire body to get you strong, toned abs.

But he doesn't provide a way to track your workouts!

If there was one tip that I could give to anyone who wants true results from their workout program, it would be this...TRACK YOUR RESULTS! Like the saying goes, "What gets tracked, gets results." That holds very true in this case.

I painstakingly created workout tracking sheets that I could just print them out, put them into a binder, and bring with me to the gym to track my results. Each sheet represents one workout. I took the exact workout routine from The Truth About Abs and put it into a format where I could track my performance for each workout.

Each exercise is already filled in, so I didn't have to remember which exercise to do. And the Truth About Abs workout tracking sheets are synchronized with the Truth About Abs MP3 files above to keep my workout fluid and efficient. All I have to do is fill in your results.

The funny thing is, I didn't even believe it myself, but I got stronger each workout when I started tracking my results. I lifted more weight and performed more reps simply because I knew what I did the last workout, and wanted to outdo it. Coincidence? I think not.

So, as you can see, The Truth About Abs provides a wealth of information to you. The core knowledge provides all the information you need to get six pack abs. But it is lacking in 2 areas: having an audio workout that you can follow along in the gym AND a way to track your workout performance.
